Slipring Case 2: Free Type at Pelvis Location

Slipring Case 2: Free Type at Pelvis Location

At the pelvis the slipring lies between two sections of belt that are both curved and thus free to move during fitting. Its orientation is unknown, and cannot be deduced from its location or the belt geometry, so instead of attempting to control the twist of the belt path it simply adopts the average twist angle and orientation of the two sections attached to it.

The following example illustrates how this slipring may affect the belt path, and how it can be adjusted to correct this.
