Data Plot Refresh

Large models can take a long time to update, so by default, D3PLOT doesn’t automatically refresh data plots when you make changes in the Data menu.

The data plot refresh options allow you to control when data plots are refreshed.

When the Max Model size (#nodes) option is ticked, windows will be refreshed automatically if the number of nodes in the largest model in that window does not exceed the value set. Automatic refreshing can also be configured per setting (e.g. component, contours, max/min, etc). It should be noted that if the max model size option is enabled, the per setting refresh options are ignored.

Envelope plots take much longer than regular data plots to update because D3PLOT will have to go through all states to recompute the results. This computation happens when enveloping is on, and the component or integration point is changed. To always update the data plots based on the settings set in the panel no matter the data plotting mode, the "Update on Envelope" check box should be ticked.

If these options are turned off and a manual refresh is required, the "Data Plot Refresh" button can be clicked.
