CPG Membership of "Airbags"
CPG membership of "Airbags"
Within D3PLOT, CPG airbag particles belong to "Airbags" in exactly
the same way ABP particles belong to "Airbags", in the same sense that solids, shells and beams belong to "Parts" (the "Airbag" is the Control Volume definition in the input
deck). It is not possible to tell from the d3plot/.ptf file which fabric elements make up the bag, so the Airbag entity cannot be drawn explicitly. However, being able
to select and process "by airbag" fits neatly into the logic
of the programme, and makes it easy to select and control these elements.
Unlike ABP particles, LS-DYNA automatically creates an additional Part for each CPG Airbag and writes information for this Part to the d3plot/.ptf file. This Part ID is also written to the d3dat file for each CPG particle, and D3PLOT automatically reads this Part ID data and adds the CPG particles to the additional Part defined in the d3plot/.ptf file. This means that CPG particles can be selected via the associated Part as well as by the Airbag definition they belong to.
